All of my friends will let you know that Game Night is my FAVORITE way to spend an evening! I take these very seriously. Game night consists of eating, drinking, playing games and most importantly, laughing. Some of my favorite memories have come from these nights. We usually get together once every few months at a friend's house. Either you can grill hamburgers or just order pizza. Have the guests bring snacks, whatever their drink preference is and of course, their favorite board game. Keep this as low key or as extravagant as you like.
A few of my favorite games are:
Cranium: This is my ultimate favorite game. It gives you a mix of all other games and is a lot of fun. However it does require a lot of attention and can get complicated if your party goers aren't really into it. Also, try different versions of Cranium. For instance, Cranium Turbo offers different games such as Puppeteer, where your partner must guess what the puppeteer is making them do--warning: this is pee your pants funny. (Cranium is only recommended for groups of 4-8)
Taboo: This is probably the easiest game for large groups. Your team has to guess the word you are trying to describe with out using the listed words on the card. You can do men VS women or couples. This is a good staple to own.
Pictionary: This is the game where you someone must guess what you are drawing. It requires a table and should not be done with too large of a group. However, it is always fun to see what people will draw.
Apples to Apples: This is another game that can be done in a large group. It is a game of comparisons (hence the name). No pen or paper required. I recommend this game if you are planning on heavy drinking.
Please comment with some of your favorite games!
