Monkey Around at the Zoo

The zoo is somewhere that we all went for school field trips and with the family as a child, but it can be fun to attend as an adult, as well. I recently went to the National Zoo in Washington, D.C. with some friends. It was FREE (donations only) and was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Keep an eye out for new exhibits at your local zoo. They usually have special shows when they have new babies. Not all zoos are free, but they are usually reasonably priced. Also, make sure to see if your city has more than one type of zoo. For instance, in Austin, we have a zoo and also a wildlife rescue sanctuary. Some cities offer wildlife tours and other nature parks. Check out the link below to see what your city has to offer and plan the perfect fall date.

*Can't wait till fall? Check out an aquarium. They are mostly indoors--which means AC.
